Anime Haters I'm on to you

I read recently in some blog that some people ("gasp") hate anime. But the people interviewed gave childish explanations of why they hate anime. Some said it was for girls and perverted old men and another said that because of japanese anime some of the great "american" cartoons are being cancelled.
In my opinion anime has become popular because of it's variety. There are from generic shows like Naruto to completely originals like Moyashimon.
Those who think that anime is just magical girls and ninjas need to open their minds you might even find something you like.
American cartoons are not being cancelled because an anime show will be placed in it's time slot. Shows live or die depending on the rating they bring, unpopular shows are cancelled faster than those that bring big ratings.
If you create a show regardless if it's live-action or animated, if you fail to bring rankings it will be cancelled by the network execs regardless of it's content; because at the end all that matters is money and unpopularity doesn't bring money.

Now, if you excuse me I have to crawl back under my rock...
